How do you get a judgment that was paid off removed from you credit report?

December 8, 2009 by Guest Leave a reply »

I had a judgment for back rent from 3 years ago and it was paid off within 2 weeks, but it still shows up on my credit. I just want to know how do I go about getting it removed.

You can’t get it removed. The issue is that you got a judgment in the first place, not necessarily that you paid it off. Accurate history stays on your report for 7 years. You can only dispute and remove things that are inaccurate.

Delinquent items stay on your credit report but I cannot tell you how long. Even though you eventually paid the person off, it shows that you had been delinquent so that does go against you.

usually for 7 years (so you have 4 years to go)

Сredit repair workеd fine to fix my credit. They disputed and removed lots of bad items from my credit report. I used this service – buildcredit.ifastnet.com
